Deptford, NJ – Maryville Addiction Treatment Center is proud to announce that former NHL player and analyst for NBC sports Philadelphia, Chris Therien, will be the guest speaker at its upcoming “Recovery for Life” gala on April 21st, 2023. The event will take place at the Auletto Caterers in Deptford, New Jersey, and all proceeds will go towards supporting Maryville’s mission to provide comprehensive addiction treatment services to those in need.
Therien, the longest tenured defenseman for Philadelphia Flyers, has been open about his own struggles with addiction and his journey to recovery. He now uses his platform with Pennsylvania Recovery Center to raise awareness about addiction and mental health and has become an advocate for those who are struggling with addiction.
“I am thrilled to be the guest speaker for this year’s Recovery for Life Gala,” said Therien. “I have personally struggled with alcoholism as a professional athlete, and know how hard it is to ask for help. I am available to anyone in need!”
The “Recovery for Life” gala is an annual fundraising event for Maryville Addiction Treatment Center, and this year’s event promises to be an exciting evening filled with live music, dancing, and a silent auction.
